Yoga and stress - Yoga is acknowledged as the best stress prevention method. It has been practised for over 5000 years by cultures all over the world.
- Yoga involves the synchronisation of simple exercises with breathing and mental focus. Once practised it has a profound affect on your whole body, health and well being, as well as dramatically reducing your stress levels.
Pilates and stress- The Pilates style of exercising was developed by Joseph Pilates who opened his first studio in New York in 1926.
- It is a system of exercises aimed at strengthening and conditioning muscles that help reduce back pain and ageing, as well as dramatically reducing your stress levels.
Desk based exercises and stress- Do you or your staff work at a desk, commute to work sitting down and relax at home sitting down?
- Add up how many hours you or your staff spend sitting down everyday. It is probably too many.
- Our fully qualified fitness instructors can teach simple exercises that can be done at the desk or workstation. These routines are easy to do, and don't require a change of workclothes. They are an important way to increase concentration, prevent occupational overuse injuries, and as they are fund to do they also boost morale.
Meditation and stress- Meditation is the art of calming and clearing the mind. It is another ancient practise that is even more relavent in today's fast pace, information loaded world.
- It can be learned by anyone, and is the ultimate stress relief. Our teachers can guide you through simple but powerfully effective techniques.
Martial arts and stress- For centuries warriors of the East have practised techniques to focus their minds, and perform incredible physical feats.
- A basic training in a martial arts practise can reduce stress levels by teaching participants how to focus and calm the mind, how to project energy without wasting it, and how to resolve conflict in a peaceful manner.
- Classes are available in many styles. Tai Chi is a gentle form of standing exercises and movement orginating from China. Aikido originates from Japan, and it is a faster and stronger form of exercise which develops balance and body awareness, as well as concentration. Wu Tao is often described as a blend of dane and yoga.
Laughter and stress- It's true: laughter often is the best medicene in stressful situations.
- There is lots of scientific evidence to show how laughter reduces stress, but we already know how much better we feel afterward a good laugh.
- If the stress levels are rising in your team, department or floor you may find a well moderated and structured laughter workshop enables everyone to let off steam. Once the air has been cleared team members are often much more able to tackle issues or blocks and resolve problems that may have been creating the stress.
- Our laughter coaches are fully trained and experienced facilitators. They are available for one-off classes or a series.
